When cleaning and restoring trusses, we use a method called soda blasting to preserve the strength and integrity of the wood and bring it back to its like-new finish.

Soda blasting is a gentle, non-abrasive yet highly effective method of cleaning off materials tarnished with soot or microbial growth. Using an air compressor pump to blast tiny particles of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and water solution through a hose, the solution remains on the surface and dries, leaving behind a restored surface without the risk of damage using heat or chemicals. In addition, the chemical-free solution of baking soda and water is environmentally friendly.

DRIRITE typically uses the soda blasting method to treat truss packages with microbial growth prior to the mechanical, electrical and plumbing stage of new construction, and after the trusses are hung.
